What Artistic Nudity Means to Me

What Artistic Nudity Means to Me

A lonely nude figure wearing a Batman-style mask stands frozen against a streetlight pole in a quiet nighttime park beside a sports court, the bright glow contrasting with dark trees and empty benches to create a surreal, timeless mood of quiet unease and artistic isolation.

What Artistic Nudity Means to Me

Someone asked me the other day what "artistic nudity" even is. Fair question. The phrase gets used to make nudity sound more respectable than it is, and I don't want to hide behind it.

For me it's simpler. Some days I photograph my body not to show skin, but to record how it feels to stand in a room with nothing between me and the air. The light does most of the work. I just stand there.

I don't think I look perfect, and I've stopped trying to. The interesting part is what shows up when I'm not arranging myself: a slouch, a scar, a hand resting somewhere it wouldn't in a posed shot. Those are the honest parts.

This image is a preview of a longer set I'm slowly putting together. It's about vulnerability, which sounds grand, but really it just means I didn't crop out the parts I used to hide.

If you look at it and feel something, good. If you look and feel nothing, that's fine too. It's just a body, and that's the point.

The Uncut Frame: What the SFW Version Leaves Out

In this post I write about releasing two versions of the same video: the SFW edit that went out first, and the uncut one behind it. Same light, same body, same afternoon. What changes is how much of the moment gets to stay. I talk about why the clothed version isn't born from shame but from manners and consent, and the quieter cost of trimming yourself down until the edited cut starts to feel like the real one. Nudity isn't the point here. Honesty is — and nakedness just makes it easier to see where I stopped pretending. Includes notes on the early days of shooting this way, when I kept my hands busy to avoid being looked at, and what it took to finally stand still. Written for anyone who feels like they're living in a slightly cropped version of their own life.

In this blog post, Nakedwill talks about the NSFW version of a new video, why naturist nudity gets sorted into the same box as adult content, and how to share the body with honesty, boundaries, and respect.
